Cooking Instructions
Pan Fry and Steam
You will need:
- Non-stick frying pan with a lid
- Parchment paper (if you do not have a non-stick pan)
- 1 tbsp of oil
- Water
Instructions
1. If you do not have a non-stick frying pan, place the parchment paper
down to cover the pan.
3. Place frozen dumplings down, spaced apart in a single layer.
4. Pour a 1/4 inch of water and cover for 4 minutes.
*For Vegan Dumplings: reduce to 2 minutes.
5. Flip and cover again for about 1 minute.
6. Flip on the last side, drain excess water and cover for about 30 seconds.
Additional Cooking Options
Steam
You will need:
- Steamer
- Oil
Instructions
1. Add frozen dumplings to a steamer of your choice.
2. Bring water to a hard boil.
3. Steam for 7 minutes, then serve.
*For an elevated serving option, add the dumplings to your favourite soup.
Soup
You will need:
- Pot
- Colander
- Water
- Soup
Instructions
- Drop frozen dumplings into a half full pot of boiling water.
- Stir gently with a wooden spoon so it does not stick to the bottom.
- Add one cup of cold water and bring back to a boil, then add a second cup of cold water.
- When the dumplings are floating to the top in the boiling water, strain them.
- Run cold water over the dumplings for 10 seconds so that the wrappers are tender in the soup.
- Transfer the dumplings to the soup pot.
Boil and Fry (Traditional Chinese Dumplings)
You will need:
- Pot
- Colander
- Non-stick frying pan
- Oil
- Water
Instructions
- Drop frozen dumplings into a half full pot of boiling water.
- Stir gently with a wooden spoon so it does not stick to the bottom.
- Add one cup of cold water and bring back to a boil, then add a second cup of cold water.
- When the dumplings are floating to the top, strain them.
- Run cold water over the dumplings for 10 seconds so that the wrappers are tender.
- Heat a tablespoon of oil in a non-stick frying pan on medium-high heat.
- Add the drained dumplings onto the heated pan for 2-3 minutes and flip midway.
- Dumplings are ready to be served when they are gold brown.
Cooking Instructions (Spring Rolls from Frozen)
Cook from Frozen
Option 1: Bake in the Oven
What you need: baking sheet, your choice of oil and a pastry brush
1. Preheat the oven at 375 degrees F
2. Place frozen spring rolls on a baking pan and lightly brush both sides of spring rolls with your choice of oil (olive oil, canola oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and etc.)
3. Bake for 15-18 minutes until crispy, tuning once half way through.
4. Remove from the oven and let stand for 2 minutes.
5. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
Option 2: Air Fryer
What you need: Air Fryer
1.Place the frozen spring rolls in an air fryer
2. Set 375 degrees F for 15 minutes without oil
3. Enjoy restaurant quality of spring rolls with your favorite dipping sauce.
Dipping Sauce
My favourite dumpling dipping sauce
- 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar or 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar - choose your favourite vinegar
- 4-5 drops of sesame oil
- 1 tablespoons of finely chopped green onion and 1/2 teaspoon of sesame seed (optional)
- Mix all the above ingredients together!
